Our Catholic school is part of the Catholic Church. We work in partnership with our local parish and priests in order to enrich the spiritual life of the students, staff and families of our school, especially through the celebration of the Sacraments.
St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School Sutherland works closely with our priests and members of our parish community to support the Sacramental Program. This program is family-centred and parish-based, facilitated by the Parish Sacramental Coordinator and the school’s Family & Faith Educator. Families share an active role in their child’s preparation for the Sacraments and attend group sessions with their child. The school supports students Sacramental preparation through the Religious Education program.
Students prepare and receive Sacraments in the following grades:
- Year 3, Sacrament of Penance (Reconciliation)
- Year 3, Sacrament of the Eucharist (First Communion)
- Year 6, Sacrament of Confirmation
Students regularly attend Reconciliation and Eucharist throughout the year and celebrate whole school Masses on special days.
